During our recent trip to Victoria we stopped for a few days at the BIG4 Bright Holiday Park in the lovely town of Bright along the Alpine Way, Victoria.
This is a pretty little park with lots of trees which were just starting to change colour at the beginning of Autumn. This BIG4 park has a range of cabins and was very busy during the Victorian School holidays leading up to Easter. It is very close to town and easy walking distance to some great cafes and restaurants. Sitting beside the Ovens River you can easily access two great walks - the Canyon Walk and the Cherry Walk.
BIG4 Bright Holiday Park's cabins are very well presented and some quite new - less than one year old. Each cabin has a designated car parking space and some even have enough room for two cars - suitable for two couples travelling together. Each cabin we viewed were named, making them easy to identify upon arrival. Inside, hanging on the wall, is a framed description of whom or what the cabin was named after - a nice touch to show visitors a bit of history from this beautiful area.We stayed on one of the powered ensuite sites which was flat and easy to access. The ensuite was clean and spacious. A camp kitchen sits at one end of the amenities block and a laundry at the other.
There are two lovely barbeque decks at either end of the park and these had plenty of seating including some lounge chairs. Lovely relaxing spaces - covered and tastefully decorated.
One interesting feature of the park is a bike wash bay complete with two bicycle repair stands to secure the bike while cleaning. The area around Bright is extremely popular for cycling - everything from the Rail Trail for a leisurely cycle along a sealed track to double black diamond downhill runs and mountain bike trails around Mystic Mountain.
The park has a children's playground and some lovely family bathrooms. Close to this lovely park you will find the Bright Splash Park that has been created at the junction of Morses Creek and the Ovens River - fabulous fun for the kids.
