Longreach Visitor Information Centre

Longreach Visitor Information Centre can be found on the edge of QANTAS Park, Eagle Street, Longreach, Queensland. This Centre is housed in a replica of the first QANTAS office - a lovely little timber building. Very friendly, helpful service with lots of information about what is happening in the area. They also offer a book exchange service which I find very useful when travelling - only need to carry one book at a time.

We spoke to Donna at the Information Centre and she was extremely enthusiastic about the area, telling us of a street parade and market that were taking place on the following Saturday - this apparently only happens once every two years. She was so excited about this that we decided to stay a couple of extra night to see some of the attractions around town, and then catch the street parade.
