Mount Isa Visitor Information Centre

We always make the Visitor Information Centre our first stop before exploring a new town - do not want to miss anything interesting. The Mount Isa Visitor Information Centre is located within the Outback at Isa buildings and there is so much to see here before you venture to other locations within town. Staff at the Visitor Information Centre were very enthusiastic about the area and happy to help with all our enquiries- make sure you pick up the Mount Isa Visitors Guide. 

Other things of interest at Outback at Isa:

• Hard Times Mine - constructed on site to show what it is like inside a real mine - tours available throughout the day.  
• Outback Park - a beautifully landscaped garden for visitors and special functions. Get some great photos.
• Riversleigh Fossil Centre where you will find out about fossils that have been found at the nearby Riversleigh Fossil fields - one of the richest fields in the world.
• A great cafe providing homemade food from 9 am to 4 pm most days - good coffee.
• The Gallery - an art gallery featuring paintings, sculptures, portraits, abstracts etc from local and regional artists. The feature exhibition changes regularly 
• Videos play throughout the day about the history of Mount Isa - well worth the time to sit down and watch. 
• Gift shop where you will find anything from souvenirs to great belt buckles for the Mount Isa Rodeo.

Plenty of parking, with the entrance on Mullan Street - we went back several times.
