Fantasea provide both passenger and car ferry services between Townsville and Magnetic Island. Services run approximately every 2 hours.
The Fantasea Ferry is the only way to take your vehicle to Magnetic Island. The trip is very pleasant and comfortable, even if you don’t take your car. Save a few dollars on the fare and leave your vehicle and/or RV in the FREE Fantasea secure car park while you visit Magnetic Island. There is also a FREE car wash if you need to hose the dust and salt off your vehicle after the trip.

Fantasea is a ferry service that allows you to take your car to Magnetic Island. Of course you are able to travel on this service as a passenger and leave your car in the secure car parking across the road. The car park is fully fenced and locked at night - we left our car here and traveled across to Magnetic Island to spend the night with friends.
Fantasea Cruising Magnetic’s terminal is located at Ross St, South Townsville, and the service runs several times each day - the trip takes about 40 minutes. We enjoyed the trip across to Magnetic Island, sitting upstairs on the boat and enjoying the scenery. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend this trip when visiting Townsville in North Queensland.
