The Strand - Townsville

The Strand is on the beachfront at Townsville and close to the centre of town. It is a great place for a walk along the many pathways through the gardens. The Strand has a variety of restaurants and bars with great water views and this area is extremely popular on the weekends for locals and visitors to Townsville. We ate at the Fish Inn Rockpool Restaurant/cafe and had a delicious meal of seafood.

There are safe swimming beaches along the pathways and at the end of the Strand you will find the Rockpool which is a great spot for the Children. If you want to bring your own lunch, there are some lovely shaded picnic spots scatted throughout the grassed areas along the promenade - relax under a lovely palm tree and enjoy the beautiful Queensland weather.
