Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park - Townsville

While visiting Townsville on a recent caravan adventure we stayed at the Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park which had been recommended by friends. This is a very large park across the road from Rowes Bay. Angled sites allowing for easy access with cement slab for the awning - NOTE check the map to make sure you drive in the right way to make backing easy. Each site has a row of trees or bushes separating you van from your neighbour. Some sites are large enough for motor homes and 5th wheelers.

There are a range of villas or cabins which are located at the front of the park and it appears to be very popular with families as it is directly across the road from the Bay, lovely parks with picnic tables and play equipment as well as walking tracks.

Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park has huge amount of unpowered camping spots, camp kitchen, barbeque facilities, resort style pool and three amenities blocks (very clean).  

It is the closest caravan park to the Strand and we had an enjoyable day cycling along the foreshore of Rowes Bay, past Jezzine Barracks and through the beautiful parklands of The Strand before visiting the historical centre of town.  

There is a great fish and chip shop within walking distance of the park and we found we hardly needed to use the car during our stay.

I would not hesitate to stay at Rowes Bay when I next visit sunny north Queensland.
