Wesley Hill Community Markets are held every Saturday from 7:30 am to 1 pm and you will find them across the road from the Albian Hotel along the Pyrenees Highway (Duke Street) Castlemaine.
There are a large number of stalls selling food, drinks, clothes, bric-a-brac, fruit and vegetables, with great yum-cha treats sold in the hall. Our favourite was the chicken and ginger steamed dim sim – in fact so good we went back for seconds.
I purchased a range of fresh vegetables plus some homemade peanut butter – Darryl’s fresh roasted peanut butter made from Aussie nuts grown in Queensland and free of added oils, sugar or preservative. Cannot wait to try it.
Another purchase was Rocket Roast coffee beans which are wood fired and freshly roasted n Castlemaine from organically grown coffee. We had enjoyed a coffee at the stall and this was so good we purchased coffee beans to take home.
The Wesley Hill Markets is a very interesting place to sit and indulge in some people watching - a great range of characters visit these markets each weekend.
