Castlemaine Vintage Bazaar

Late one afternoon during our stay at the BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park, and after the rain had stopped, we went for a walk to the old woollen mill which is being restored to house various retail outlets. This place is called The Mill and definitely worth a visit when you are staying in town.

One very interesting outlet is the Vintage Bazaar and as the advertising says, 'brought to you by Baron von Le’gPulling'. This outlet is open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm and easily found as The Mill is opposite the Castlemaine Botanical gardens.

The Vintage Bazaar is filled with second hand goodies – each numbered and priced so you can take the item to the front counter for purchase. They seem to be set up in small shops (stalls) and  you just wander from one to the other – clothes, tools, vinyls, books, glassware, jewellery – the list goes on.  As they say on their brochure:

• 'Knick-knackery, bric-a-brackery, second hand curios, retro accoutrement, and a soupcon of handmade finery. And stuff.  Lozza, lozza stuff'.

You could wander around for hours just looking at all the stuff – reminds me of things from my childhood.
