Bridge Hotel - Castlemaine

After arriving at the BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park, and setting up the caravan, we decided to take the short walk along the road to the Bridge Hotel for dinner. This hotel is located on the corner of Walker and Cornish Streets and during autumn is easily spotted with the beautiful red grape vine growing over the front verandah.

We received a very nice welcome and were shown to a table in the dining room to enjoy our pre-dinner drinks while purusing the menu. One comment I would like to make is that the mood lighting was so dark I had to use the flashlight of the phone to read the menu choices.

We started with Kimchi dumplings and salt and pepper calamari - very interesting and tender calamari (large serving).  Next came the mixed grill – steak, lamb, pulled pork, chorizo sausage and chicken wings, with hand cut potato and fresh veges - delicious. 
I had grilled fish (blue grenadier) which was steamed with sweet potato chips (more like large cut baked sweet potato) and fresh veges – delicious. These servings were huge and we needed to take a long walk back to the van.
