Wow what a great asset for Geraldton in Western Australia. The foreshore area along Champion Bay is close to the centre of town and has recently been renovated with some some great features:
There is a Dome cafe/restaurant along the Geraldton foreshore which has large covered verandahs to sit and enjoy the view as well as a large indoor seating. This is a very popular eating place and we called in several times during our visit to enjoy a cuppa and a meal. We also ate at Skeetas restaurant at the northern end of Geraldton foreshore near Batavia Marina - again a lovely spot for lunch.
The Foreshore Rest Centre is in a fish shaped building with accessible toilet and shower and a shop selling hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, children's sunsafe shirts, cool drinks and ice creams. The Rest Centre is open Thursday to Monday (9.30 am to 5 pm) and seven days a week during school holidays. It also has a beach wheelchair available for use on sand and in shallow water (Phone 08 9956 6960).
You could easily spend the whole day enjoying this lovely area in Geraldton.
