Ethel Wreck Beach Lookout is within Innes National Park on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. A ship called the Ethel hit a reef near Cape Spencer while sailing along Investigator Straight and was blown ashore. I understand that they tried to rescue the stricken ship only to have it break loose and once again wash ashore - becoming even more damaged. It was then abandoned and the remains can be seen sticking up from the sand on what is now called Ethel Beach.
A very good viewing platform looks down over the beach and onto the remains. There is a very good car parking area suitable for vehicles and buses and this is identified on the map of Innes National Park. We spent a day exploring the national park and stopped at various points of interest, enjoying beautiful scenery along the way.
