RV Rest Area - Cooktown

This is a 48 hour camping area within walking distance to the centre of Cooktown. All vehicles must have waste water tanks and fees can be paid at the Council Administration Building during business hours or at Natures Powerhouse Information Centre on the weekend. The fee is $5 per night and vehicle inspections may be carried out to make sure there is a compliant waste water tank.

There is a boat ramp and fishing spot close to the camping area and I understand that insect repellent is an essential item during certain time of the year. There seemed to be plenty of space for large rigs.
