We were lucky enough to be staying in Renmark, South Australia before Christmas during the staging of the Renmark Pageant. This Pageant is held on the first Friday in December each year and is a very popular event involving various floats and Father Christmas.
The Pageant travels through town and entertainment is set up along the riverfront - food stalls, side shows, entertainment, children's activities and rides. I would suggest you arrive early to get a car park close to the action and join the crowd. The event starts at about 6 pm with restaurants, shops, cafes and bars open to sell goodies to the public.
This is a free event and the kids lined the streets collecting lollies, balloons and stickers handed out as the floats and vehicles travelled past. A lovely way to spend the evening in Renmark.
