A beautiful way to spend time in Renmark is to take a leisurely walk or ride along the Murray River. The landscaped parkland follows the riverfront through the centre of town and there are a number of shaded picnic spots, houseboats, flower gardens and informative signs along the way.
We rode our bikes from the Riverbend Caravan Park (near the Paringa Bridge), past the Big 4 Riverfront Caravan Park all the way along the river, through town and finished at the end of the bike path on New Landing Way. The cycle/walking path is sealed and a lovely relaxing way to spend the day with lots to see and do. The Visitor Information Centre is on the path and we stopped to get a map of the city. Check out the historic steam vessel moored behind this old building on the riverfront.
The Renmark Club is a bit further along with eating areas overlooking the Murray River. This is in the centre of Renmark and there are several cafes to enjoy coffee and take in the views of the park and river. Just past the Renmark Club you will find the Jarrett Memorial Gardens - full of roses and flowering plants. These parklands have lovely trees for shade and grassed areas for the picnic rug.
The Murray River is an important part of Renmark and you can take a ride on an old paddle steamer or hire a houseboat and explore this mighty waterway. The Murray River is a popular spot for skiing and attracts a large number of visitors each year.
