While riding our bikes along The Esplande in Harvery Bay, Queensland, we came across this amazing water park. Wetside Water Education Park is located on the foreshore of Hervey Bay (Pialba) and is a fun, eco-friendly public facility designed around water 'infotainment'. While enjoying all the fun of the water features you also learn interesting water facts by reading the information signs posted around the decks and walkways - eg longest rivers, biggest lakes, rainfall facts or maybe "the water in your coffee may have been drunk by dinosaurs!".
Entry into Wetside is FREE and includes a special area for under 5's called Totside. There is also the FlipSide BoardRider wave machine for the older kids - a fee is charged for the Boardrider which operates every Saturday or 7 days a week during school holidays.
The park has lockers available plus change rooms and a takeaway coffee shop/cafe. There are large decks under beautiful shade trees with plenty of seating. This is a fabulous looking place and was busy after school - cannot imagine how it would be during school holidays.
