Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park is a Council owned park on the beach at beautiful Hervey Bay. We stayed here for several nights during our last caravan adventure down the Queensland coast. A warm welcome at reception and happy for us to look around at available sites before setting up for our stay. The beachfront sites were fully booked and I understand that you need to contact the park in advance to secure one of these popular spots overlooking the Bay.
Our site was large enough to leave the car hooked up for an early start on our day of departure. This park is centrally located and has a number of restaurants, cafes, bars and small supermarket within easy walking distance.
There are two sets of amenities, one of which is located behind the reception area. This was closest to our site and is an older style with a separate room for toilets and showers. These are immaculately clean and spacious - they look as though they have recently been renovated. A large laundry sits between the ladies and men's facilities and has several washers and dryers - only $4 per load.
A camp kitchen with several barbeques was conveniently located near the entrance to the park. The park has direct access to a beautiful beach and great walking/cycling path. This path runs the length of the Esplanade with toilet blocks, playgrounds and exercise equipment at intervals along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park and look forward to spending more time in Hervey Bay in the near future. Highly recommended.
