Hervey Bay Esplanade

The Hervey Bay Esplanade runs from the Urangan Pier to Point Vervon and has a walking/cycle track running almost the entire length. We spent a couple of days during our holidays cycling in either direction from our caravan site at the Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park.

The Esplanade is dotted with everything you need for a great day out:

• cafes
• takeaway shops
• restaurants and bars
• shops - gift shops, newsagent, supermarkets etc
• public toilets
• picnic tables
• children's playgrounds
• beach equipment hire 
• exercise equipment
• beach access
• even dog poo bag supplies at various locations

At the intersection of the Esplanade and Main Street you will find an amazing facility called Wetside Water Park - a water play and education park with something for all ages. I would imagine this place to be very popular during school holidays.

At the eastern end of the esplanade is Urangan Pier which is about 1 kilometre long and a great spot for fishing - plus views across to Fraser Island.

The Esplanade walk/cycling track has plenty of shade and is something great to do while getting a bit of exercise - highly recommended.
