The Fisherman’s Lookout-Obelisk at Port Denison offers panoramic views of the town, harbour and surrounding ocean. The obelisk was built in the late 1800s to commemorate sailors' lives lost at sea, and a plaque depicting local shipwrecks is displayed.
A boardwalk has been constructed around the edge of the lookout and Obelisk to allow easy access to great views. You can reach the Obelisk via the Fisherman's Memorial walk trail which will take between 30 minutes to one hour, or drive the car parking area via Point Leander Drive.
Port Denison is located four hours north of Perth and is home to West Australia's largest rock lobster fishing fleets. During August and September the wildflowers in this part of Australia are quite spectacular - a great time to visit for wonderful photos.
