Shark Bay Discovery Centre - Denham

The Shark Bay Discovery Centre is where you will find the Visitor Information Centre in Denham, Western Australia. They were very helpful with maps and brochures and will book tours for you as well as provide information on the National Parks of Shark Bay. This area is famous for feeding the dolphins at Monkey Mia but there is so much more to explore.

This is a very modern building on the foreshore of Denham - located on Knights Terrace in the middle of town. The building has three main areas:

• Visitor Centre - a great range of locally made gifts and souvenirs (we always start here when visiting a new area)
• the Discovery Centre - a museum with information on the World Heritage listing of Shark Bay, its formation and the history of the early settlersand the local indigenous people.
• the Rose Freycinet Gallery - an art gallery with a range of local and visiting artworks. 

RvTrips would highly recommend a visit to the Shark Bay Discovery Centre and allow yourself plenty of time to visit all the areas of interest. They have a fabulous display of local items and several DVDs playing throughout the day on the history of this unique region. Please take notice of the floor when you enter the Discovery Centre as this has been sandblasted with a map of Shark Bay - impressive stuff.
