BIG4 Mackay Marine Tourist Park

The Mackay BIG4 Marine Tourist Park along Harbour Road did not look great from the road but wait until you get inside to see the range of facilities. Unfortunately during our visit the plainest looking cabins sat facing the main road distorting my first impression of this park.  

Once you head towards reception you will be able to see some of the great facilities for families holidaying at this BIG4 - 

• children's water splash park
• pool with water slide and wading pool
• large salt water pool
• mini golf
• jumping pillow
• interesting maze made from used tyres
  

There are a range of cabins including some relatively new ones overlooking the pool area with large verandahs to sit and relax while keeping an eye of the children.  At the rear of the park is a large wetland area which I understand is good for some barramundi fishing. The park has a number of large caravan or camping sites - some adjoining private ensuites and some large enough for motor homes.  

This park is pet friendly but please check with the manager when booking in as this may change during busy periods. The BIG4 Mackay Marine Tourist Park is conveniently located close to the harbour and the CBD with a bus stop right out the front. It has a camp kitchen, fire pit and dump point, plus a range of amenities.
