We walked to the main street of Narrabri from the Visitor Information Centre and found Watson's Kitchen Bakery. They have tables set up facing Maitland Street to sit in the shade and enjoy coffee, tea and something to eat. We had a sausage roll on our first visit to this lovely store which was great.
Watson’s Kitchen has been a family bakery since 1946 and has a store front on Maitland Street as well as Tibbereena Street (Newell Highway). Great choice of cakes, pies and breads - in fact we purchased wholemeal bread rolls for lunch one day and they were so good we called in for more on our way out of town.
The Maitland Street store is open from Monday to Saturday 5.00 am - 5.30 pm and the New Highway (Bakery Express) is open Monday to Saturday 7.00 am - 6.30 pm, as well as Sunday from 7 am - 6.30 pm. This is a very busy country bakery and seems to be well supported by the local which is always a good sign of quality.
