Mount Kaputar National Park is located in northern NSW not far from Narrabri. We spent a day exploring the National Park and discovered a couple of really nice camping grounds - Dawson Springs and Bark Hut campgrounds. Both look great for a relaxing getaway, and Dawson Springs even has three cabins available for accommodation.
The views from the Mount Caputar Lookout are spectacular and worth the trip - apparently you can see 10% of NSW from here. There are a number of walking tracks from various locations throughout the park which are very popular during spring and summer.
At another point in the National Park you can view Sawn Rock - a giant rock wall of organ pipes formed by lava cooling slowly and allowing crystals to align in long columns (5 sided shapes). Sawn Rocks viewing platform can be accessed via Killarney Gap Road (Bingara Road).
