Follow Apex Drive in Gunnedah and you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Breeza Plans form Porcupine Lookout. The Breeza plains are one of the most fertile growing areas in Australia.
The Aboriginal Kamilaroi Tribe called this hill 'Bindea' which translates to "the place where shrubs with leaves like a porcupine quill grow". They used this area to hunt wallaby.
Porcupine Lookout is ideally positioned to get a good view of the whole town and its surrounds. It's from here you appreciate just how flat this part of the world is. This lookout is only about two kilometres from town and definitely worth a drive.
