Gregories is a beach area within Francois Peron National Park, Shark Bay, Western Australia. This is a very popular spot for snorkelling at a reef accessible from the beach. It was too windy for snorkelling on the day we visited Gregories and we watched a person kite boarding off the beach who was really hooting along - the winds are very consistent at certain times of the year.
We walked along the Beach and noticed some amazing rock formations that looked like lava pipes that had cooled quickly under the ocean and then weathered once exposed on the shoreline.
Gregores has camp sites, barbeque facilities and toilets available for the use of visitors. You will need a 4WD to visit this area as the tracks in Francois Peron National Park are very sandy. Air compressors located close to the entrance of the park allow visitors to deflate tyres before attempting the tracks. This is a very interesting spot and well worth a visit - we enjoyed out day looking around this beautiful part of Australia.
