Francois Peron National Park is an absolute gem with magnificent scenery and amazing colours. You will need a 4WD to access the park and there are air pumps either side of the entrance for you to deflate and inflate car tyres as required. The tracks are quite sandy and I would recommend reading the air pressure instructions carefully. We had to help tow some tourists who had not deflated their tyres and became stuck in the middle of the track - instructions are in several languages.

There are plenty of well equipped camping and picnic areas throughout the park. We took lunch and sat at one of the many shaded tables and watched people kite surfing. It can be quite hot and windy so remember to take plenty of sun protection and, of course, drinking water.

Skip Jack Point has a great viewing platform and the ocean is very clear - we saw turtles, dolphins, stingrays, dugongs and various fish from the lookout. Give yourself plenty of time to explore this park as there are several fantastic areas (with wonderful scenery) that require a short walk form each car park - grab a map from the Visitor Information Centre or National Parks office in Denham. There are unpowerd camping spots available throughout the park - eco toilets and barbeques are provided at most locations.

This looks like an awesome place, the contrast of the red earth and the ocean is magic. Are you allowed to go fishing in the national park? or is it a marine park also?

Yes, this is part of Shark Bay which is a marine park but recreational fishing is allowed in many areas. Best to check out http://www.sharkbay.org/Fishing_boating.aspx#Where Can I Fish? for more details. Hope this helps.
