Water Wheel Winery - Bridgewater On Loddon

We had served some local Water Wheel Wine at the Bridgewater Hotel with dinner which was so nice we decided to stop at the vineyard on our way out of town the following day.  We had the caravan in tow and were assured that we could park outside the tasting room - there was enough space as there were no other visitors at such an early hour.  It was only 10 am - nothing like an early morning wine tasting to start the day.

The wine grower was on hand to talk us through the various wines that they produce and was generous in the amount poured for tasting. Of course there is a waste barrel if you don’t like the taste - or need to drive. 

We purchased their Bendigo Blanc which is created from a variety of white wine grapes and very easy to drink.  Their 2014 Memsie Homestead Shiraz (2014) also appealed to our taste buds so another carton went into the car.  

Water Wheel Winery is well worth a visit and very easy to find near the flour mill at Bridgewater on Loddon.
