The Bridgewater Bakehouse is a well known baker on the main street of Bridgewater on Loddon - along the Calder Highway. In fact we had spoken to a young couple the night before who call into this baker on every trip between Melbourne and their caravan at Buronga (across the river from Mildura).
After our morning walk along the Loddon River we headed back to the Bridgewater Public Caravan Park via the Baker. It was well before 9 am in the morning and it was already crowded – queues lined up to the front door.
There are tables inside and out and a great range of baked goodies - I understand their pies are wonderful but it was a bit early to try one. Bridgewater Bakehouse also has an outlet in Bath Lane, Bendigo.
We purchased bread rolls, date scones and, of course, hot cross buns. Yum
