Hobart's Salamanca Place is well known for its historic buildings that house artist studios, restaurants, cafes, galleries and craft shops - home to the Salamanca market held every Saturday. I have been to the Salamanca Market on a several occasions and love wandering around the wide variety of stalls looking at some amazing home made products - timber, jewelry, toys, shawls etc. The markets have a huge range of goodies for sale and are very popular with locals and visitors to Tasmania. You can also purchase fresh fruit and vegetables, gourmet produce, food, plants, clothing, books, music, gifts, souvenirs, art, craft, and unique handmade items.
Interesting shops, cafes and restaurants surround nearby Salamanca Square and these are very busy on weekends with people out and about enjoying this beautiful and historic part of Hobart. Salamanca market is located close to accommodation and walking distance to the City. A must see when visiting this part of Tasmania.
