Princes Wharf No. 1 is part of Hobart's waterfront, which has been renewed to make a new public space suitable for a variety of activities and events. The area incorporates the immediate surrounds of Princes Wharf No 1 including the forecourt and part of Castray Esplanade. This is also close to Salamanca Place and the famous Salamanca Markets.
The Princes Wharf Shed, is the oldest of Hobart's waterfront storage sheds, which was home to the Taste Festival over the Christmas and New Year period for many years and is now capable of housing large concerts as well as banquets seating up to 1000 people.
This is a great public facility on the edge of the Derwent River.
