Outback

There are some iconic places to visit in Outback South Australia and we travelled down the Stuart Highway towing our caravan and visiting as many as we could during the time available. 

Here are some points of interest:

• Marla - a large roadhouse where you will need to dispose of fruit and vegetables before heading south. Caravan Park and accommodation.
• Cadney Homestead Roadhouse - Caravan park and accommodation - good meals
• Coober Pedy - opals mines and underground housing - can buy water to fill up tanks in the caravan.  Range of accommodation and museums and of course beautiful opal jewellery.
• Breakaways Conservation Park - amazing desert scenery - view part of the dingo fence
• Glendambo - small community with service stations, accommodation and great pub
• Woomera - rocket museum 
• Roxby Downs - lovely mining town
• Andamooka - old mining village
• Flinders Ranges with amazing scenery and gorges - Quorn, Wilpena Pound, Aboriginal Rock Art, Parachilna for famous Feral Tasting Plate, Blinman

There are plenty of other adventures like the Oodnadatta Track but these will have to wait for another time. We really enjoyed this part of our beautiful country and met some lovely people along the way - nothing like good old fashioned country hospitality.
