Pootnoura Rest Area on the Stuart Highway is about 75 kilometres north of Cooper Pedy in South Australia which provides an emergency telephone service for travellers.
This is a large area with plenty of parking when towing a caravan. Shaded shelters with picnic tables and bench seating are available when you stop for a break from driving. There are information signs around the shelters on what to see in this part of the outback.
