Wilpena Pound Resort Visitor Centre is about 5 kilometres from the Finders Ranges Way as you head into the National Park. This is well signposted and the road is fully sealed with easy access when towing a caravan. This road leads to the Visitor Centre and Reception area of Wilpena Pound Resort - the car parking area is very large with plenty of room for all vehicles.
The staff are very helpful and have a range of maps for the resort itself and walking trails that lead into Wilpena Pound. They also have information on guided tours and flights within the Park and even have mountain bikes for hire. Day visitors will need to pay a fee to enter the National Park and those staying overnight will also be issued with passes to display in the front window of the car.
Next to the Visitor Centre/Reception is a general store with a cafe for morning tea and lunch as well as grocery supplies, alcohol and souvenirs (fuel can also be purchased). A public toilet is provided at the centre and tables and chairs to sit and enjoy coffee while studying the information on things to see while visiting the Flinders Ranges National Park - a beautiful area of South Australia.
