This is a beautiful park located on the esplanade at South Mission Beach in northern Queensland.
We called into this BIG4 to take some photos and were greeted by Lisa who is one of the new owners of the park. What beautiful tropical gardens, wonderfully relaxing shaded camp kitchen, clean amenities and most of all, a warm welcome. I understand that cassowaries can often be seen wandering through the park - please do not feed them, just stand back and admire these amazing birds and check out the colours in their head and neck.
The cabins in this park are neat and tidy with Lisa and her team going the extra mile to make them feel homely - I loved the fish wall art made from drift wood. On the day we visited they had people arriving early to check into cabins at about 11 o'clock - check in time is normally 2 pm. The cleaners were working as quickly as possible to help families gain access to their accommodation and keys were handed out as cabins were finished. Each of the cabins has a designated car parking space and some of these are covered. They are surrounded by palms providing shade and only a short walk to the beach. The beachside cabins are getting old and need a bit of TLC but Lisa tells me that they have great plans for refurbishment.
We loved the friendly feel of the Beachcomber Coconut Holiday Park and would not hesitate to stay in any of the accommodation available.
