Georgetown Butchery is the place to go to for meat when visiting Georgetown in Queensland. The Butchery is located on the corner of St George and Normanton Streets - you should take the kids along to show them the wooden chopping block - just like the old days.
We had been told about the famous Georgetown sausages by fellow travellers and wanted to try them while visiting the town. These were delicious, as was the steak we purchased from this lovely old country butcher. In fact we returned to the shop to stock up on snags before we headed east on our caravan adventure.
