AlKO 3.5T off road hitch. When looking at alternative camper trailers, ask for a compliance certificate for the hitch, it’s a major safety factor in the trailer to make sure the hitch is genuinely compliant. There are a lot of cheap Chinese imported hitches that are stamped as Australian Standard, but in fact have never been tested.
Gas plumbing fitted and installed locally, by a qualified RV Plumber. Always ask who did the gas installation, where did the copper pipe and fittings come from, and what brand regulator was used. A lot of importers are stating that their gas installation is compliant, when in fact it is installed overseas using inferior pipe and fittings, with many safety floors.
Dometic gas stove specifically built for RV Use. There are a lot of cheap gas cooktops out there with moving parts and no flame out safety features installed, again not compliant to Australian Standards. Some don’t even have a wind shield around the cooker!
SKF Wheel Bearings, fitted in our own workshop for peace of mind. Ask the dealer what type of bearings were used, what type of grease was used, and who installed the bearings? Check the forums for all the horror stories of wheels falling off because cheap Chinese made wheel bearings were used, along with cheap pig fat as grease!! Bluewater uses only the highest quality bearings with high temperature grease installed by our mechanics in our workshop.
Choice of wheels and tyres to suit your needs and trip planned. They are sourced locally, with the wheels rated at 1250kg and tyres rated to 1500kg, all compliant with Australian Standards. Ask the dealer what rating the wheels are on the camper, and for a certificate of testing. Almost all Chinese importers will stare blank faced back at you and shrug their shoulders. Bluewater campers are built specifically for harsh off road conditions, not just for a trip to the local caravan park.
Australian Made Dunlop foam mattress, 125mm tall with Eggshell top section for lumber support. The mattress is sanitized and certified Ultra-fresh, which means it’s been treated for dust mites and other nasties. It is fitted with a water proof fabric cover, for peace of mind, insist on the comfort and protection of an Australian Made Foam Mattress.
AC Delco Deep Cycle 97 amp hour marine grade Batteries, with Au wide warranty as opposed to generic Chinese ones that fail after 6 months. In addition we can supply and fit a range of other batteries such as Gel or AGM, for higher performance. You won’t get that type of service or options from the cheap Chinese imports!! We have a range of battery chargers, inverters and solar panels to choose from, you can talk to one of our friendly staff for more details.
Suspension setup fitted by our mechanics in the workshop, aligned and adjusted for optimal performance and Safety. We use Australian made shockers and springs, built and hardened specifically for the rigors of the harshest Australian Conditions. Check the spring rating from the dealer when considering a camper, and ask for a certificate of strength and compliance. We use USA made solid polyurethane Bump Stops, not cheap hollow Chinese made ones that do nothing for prevention of suspension damage or failure.
Bluewater Campers come with a weighbridge certificate, confirming the exact weight of the trailer and matching the VIN plate. Always ask for a weighbridge certificate, as a lot of importers are underrating the weight of the trailer, especially the towbar weight.
We use a twin wheel Adjustable Ark Brand Jockey wheel, certified and rated at 750kg. There are many stories on the forum about Jockey Wheels collapsing or falling apart, all of them true. Don’t trust a cheap Chinese made Jockey wheel, and always ask for a compliance certificate.
