The West MacDonnell National Park Rest Area is located on Namatjira Drive about 54 kilometres west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. This rest area has covered picnic tables, campfire areas with barbeque plate, water tank (not sure of quality) and allows 24 hour camping.  

This rest area is just before Ellery Springs Big Hole.
