We have driven the length of the Gregory Highway during our trip caravan trip around Australia. In some sections of this road there are long distances between stops (roadhouses or towns) - I always packed lunch and we would pull over at a rest area for a break.
We found most of the truck drivers very courteous and travelled with our UHF radio on to make sure they could contact us if required.
