We stayed at Jurien Bay for a few nights and really enjoyed this part of the West Australian coast. Our pushbikes were taken off the van for a pleasant ride on the Turquoise Way Trail - a 6.5 kilometre sealed track along the coastline. This track is well signposted - plaques alongside parts of the track give information about the native plants nearby and history on the creation of the landscape.
Jurien Bay is a pretty little town and we would have spent more time here if our schedule had allowed. There are a number of places to eat within walking distance of the Jurien Bay Tourist Park and the local baker is very popular. Dobbyn Park foreshore area is close to the caravan park and has beautiful grassed picnic spots, public toilets, beach access, playgrounds, outdoor gym, shower, and drinking water fountains. This is a great spot for swimming, fishing, snorkeling or boating offshore to explore some of the small islands just off the coast.
Jurien Bay is a very well known place for skydiving - the plane ride allows great views of the picturesque Coral Coast, and then after parachuting over the ocean you are able to land on one of the beautiful beaches.
We spent an afternoon exploring Cervantes and visiting the amazing formations called the Pinnacles in Numbang National Park - this is, of course, a must see when holidaying in this area.
