This is a lovely spot to stop as you head up to the top of Mount Buffalo in the Mount Buffalo National Park, Victoria. We stopped for photos before taking a drive through the Lake Catani Campground. This is very popular camping site with plenty of tents, camper trailers, and even small caravans set up in the bush for a short stay (bookings can be made online or on 13 19 63). This camp ground has an amenities block with hot showers and flushing toilets.
There is also a day visitor area beside the lake with picnic tables and portable toilets. We saw several people fishing (some fly fishing) and there are a number of walking tracks within the park.
The walking track around the lake is about 3 kilometres and will take approximately one hour where you pass by several different types of plants.
