What a great find for lunch within walking distance to the BIG4 Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park. It was after 2 pm and we wanted a place for a late lunch - no problem at The Red Lion Hotel as they serve meals all day until 10 pm at night. We received a wonderful welcome from the bartender who quickly assured us that we could order lunch and told us about the Thursday Special - Chicken Parmigiana with a range of toppings. I had the Chicken schnitzel with salsa, corn chips, beans, sour cream and grilled cheese - delicious. My partner had chicken schnitzel with mashed potato and cheese - again delicious. These meals were huge, served with chips and salad - I can guarantee you will not leave the Red Lion hungry.
This is very modern hotel with a number of places to sit and enjoy a drink and a large dinging area - Leo's Restaurant. I understand that this is one of Ballarat’s premier entertainment facility with something for everyone - even a children's playground.
We would not hesitate to recommend the Red Lion Hotel for a great meal and enjoyable drink in a lovely friendly atmosphere.
