The Fresh Fish Place in Port Lincoln is well worth a visit if you are after fresh seafood from the local area. A factory tour is conducted each day which is very interesting - see how oysters are opened, fish filleted, prawns peeled etc.
The shop everything you will need to make a fabulous meal - even cookbooks with tips on preparing fresh fish. The pickled scallops were a real winner with my family at Christmas - served on toasted sourdough rounds with dill mayonnaise. (The pickled scallops are prepared at the Fresh Fish Place and sold in jars)
The takeaway shop is really popular and the food was delicious - we had a seafood platter with fresh crumbed fish, oysters, salt and pepper calamari etc - yum. Fresh seafood cooking classes are held regularly with guest chefs showing you how to prepare their favourite dishes.
