Point Turton Store Bakery

The Point Turton Store Bakery is located on the main road as you drive into Point Turton in South Australia - on the corner of Bayview Road and Midway Road. This Bakery advertises that it is 'Home of the Witchetty Grub". I had never heard of the baked variety so of course I had to one. This is a very yummy treat which comes in several varieties and mine consisted of pastry filled with frankfurt, ham, cheese, tomato and onion with pepper. This is quite large so make sure you are hungry.

This is not only a bakery that cooks fresh bread daily but also a general store (with a range of goodies), post office, and fuel outlet which also sells fishing gear. The store owner was very friendly and happy to chat. We walked back to the caravan park along the Esplanade and the beach.
