Elder Range Lookout is one of the many places to stop when travelling along Flinders Ranges Way in South Australia. This lookout is located about 22 kilometres north of Hawker, before you reach Rawnsley Park Station and allows 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape. The Elder Range was named after Sir Thomas Elder, a Scottish-Australian pastoralist, successful businessman, philanthropist, politician and race-horse owner and breeder.
This is a stunning mountain range which shows some amazing colours at sunrise. Another great spot to stop and admire the magnificent rock formations in the Flinders Ranges. This stopping area has a number of old wooden benches and tables - a relaxing place to have your morning cuppa while enjoying the view.
