The Mareeba Rodeo and Festival is held annually with lots of events for everyone in the Community. The Mareeba Rodeo and Camping Ground (Kerribee Park) is on Dimbulah Road, just out of town and has plenty of powered and unpowered sites available.
In 2015 the event runs from 27 June to 12 July and includes things like - Junior competitions, a country music concert, Mareeba Rodeo Ball, street parades, art shows various sporting activities, garden competitions, Rodeo Festival Queen competition, agricultural show, and of course all the horse and bull riding events associated with a Rodeo (bull ride, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, ladies and & junior events etc).
The Mareeba Rodeo has a history dating back to 1949 and has become a a very popular event on the rodeo calendar. Apparently the parade held on the Friday night of the Rodeo weekend usually attracts crowds of around 4000 people.
