Coffee Works - Mareeba

Coffee Works is on Mason Street in Mareeba, Queensland. There is so much to see and TASTE that I think you need to allow several hours to visit this interesting place - it is open from 9 am -3 pm every day. 

Coffee Works has a huge collection of coffee machines and tea making equipment from all over the world - dating back to the early 1700's. As you enter the Coffee World collection grab a personal hand-held audio guide which will explain each item in this stunning display - just press the corresponding number and your little device will tell you about the item.

A beautiful covered eating area is provided for morning tea or lunch. We tried scones, jam and cream +Turkish bread with pesto and goats cheese – what a treat. Of course we had a fabulous cup of coffee as well - I particularly liked the funky table numbers. All coffees are expertly hand roasted in small batches by the ‘Master Roaster’- you can watch him at work Monday to Friday. 

Don't forget to check out the chocolates - over 50 flavours (lemon myrtle, ginger, lime, coffee etc) that are also handcrafted onsite. Once we finished tasting (there is only so much you can eat in a day), we headed into the gift shop which is packed with really interesting goodies. You can order on-line from Coffee Works.
