BIG4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park - Craiglie

While visiting Port Douglas in far north Queensland we chose to stay at the BIG4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park on the southern end of town and about 7 kilometres from the city centre. 

This is by far the nicest looking caravan park in the area with lovely tropical gardens, large pool area with a water park and plenty of space. We were given a choice of sites and walked around to choose the one that suited our needs. This site was close to the amenities which consist of several ensuite bathrooms (unisex). This amenities building also houses an open air (covered) camp kitchen with large number of tables. Several washing machines and dryers are located on a wall beside the kitchen.  

Each site is separated by a row of palms and tropical plants which allow plenty of privacy. The caravan park has paved roads and the slabs have a curved corner which allow easy access for caravans. 

There are a variety of cabins for accommodation at the Gelengarry Holiday Park and a large number of camping sites which seemed to be popular with families. The owners Margy and Max made us feel very welcome. The shop near the reception area sells basis supplies and the nearby recreation area has WiFi internet access. This is a great base to explore Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.
