BIG4 Ayr Silver Link Caravan Village

Ayr is a lovely looking town about 88 kilometres south of Townsville as you travel along the Bruce Highway in Queensland. This is a big sugar cane and fruit growing area that attracts a range of seasonal workers. The BIG4 Silver Link Caravan Village, Ayr, is conveniently located off the main road with a range of accommodation options for holiday makers and backpackers looking for work. I understand they can even organise bus transport to and from farms in the area.  

You cannot miss this BIG4 park with a silver link train (model of course) sitting above the entrance. This is an older looking park and we found the staff to be very welcoming, and the cabins to be very clean with air-conditioning to cope with hot Queensland weather.  

On site accommodation options include - one or two bedroom villas, deluxe villas, and disabled cabins with wheel chair access via a ramp running along the side of the cabin for easy access. One of the cabins contained something I had never seen before - a double bunk bed sleeping up to 4 people. 
 
The BIG4 Silver Link Caravan Village Ayr has a range of facilities including camp kitchen, swimming pool, children's playground, Kiosk, barbeques, dump point, plus caravan and camping sites (some drive through).
