The Cooinda Wetlands Walk is a track behind Gagudju Cooinda Lodge that takes you to the Yellow Water Billabong Jetty and then back to the Lodge. This walk took us through bushland which was marked with pink arrows indicating the direction to go, and which path to follow - plenty of warning signs to be aware of Crocodiles.
We walked out onto Home Billabong Jetty near the Lodge (for some great photos) and then made out way through the bush, then along the raised platform over the marshes to reach Yellow Water Jetty (where you board the boats for a cruise of Yellow Water Billabong). I carried a large stick in case of snakes and was very alert to every rustle in the grass. This was a lovely walk and ended up being a 3.8 kilometre round trip (we were wearing a Garmin to make sure we did not get lost). The Cooinda Wetlands Walk is very shaded and quite interesting - keep an eye out for interesting flowers and birds along the way.
