Euston is a small town in NSW on the Murray River and located between Mildura and Swan Hill. They say that this is "where the Murray River is fun" and it is a very popular spot for camping, swimming, water skiing and fishing in water above Euston Weir and Lock 15.
The sister city of Robinvale is just a short distance away over the bridge into Victoria and a cylcling/walking track connects the two towns. Check that it is open before heading off on the bike as low lying parts of the track can be covered by water after rain. There are a number of accommodation options in town and the Euston Club Resort is a very popular place to eat overlooking the Murray River.
Euston has large agricultural areas growing a variety of produce and attracting a large number of seasonal workers. Table grapes, wine grapes, olives, almond and pistachio trees, carrots, broccoli, asparagus, apples, avocados, pumpkins, citrus fruit and more thrive in the rich soil benefiting from a regular water supply and Mediterranean climate.
The Old Euston Courthouse contains photographs and memorabilia of the district plus a small one-room museum dedicated to the Bush Nursing Service. Six plaque are located throughout the town with a photo and text describing a time and place in the history of Euston.
