Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park - Carnarvon

We stayed at the Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park in Carnarvon while travelling down the coast of Western Australia. This is a Top Tourist park located on Robinson Street - on the left hand side of the road as you head into town and about five kilometres from the Visitor Information Centre. Dean and Melissa were managing the park for 12 months and were a very friendly welcoming couple - happy to have a chat.

This is a large, very neat park and they work hard to keep as much grass as possible on all sites. At the back of the park is a bowling green and bowlers from south head here for winter - daily competitions are held June to August with great prizes.  

The amenities were newly refurbished and very clean. There were two entry doors into the amenities and the cleaners would block off half to clean at a time allowing you to enter from the opposite door to use the facilities.  I thought this was a wonderful idea.

• recreation room - social events such as bingo, dancing and cards held during winter

• car washing permitted on sites - pay a nominal fee and use the hose provided at reception

• Kiosk - LPG gas refill - tourist information
• free book ahead service for members of Top Tourist Parks of Australia
• some accommodation is pet friendly

Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park has a range of accommodation:

• family chalets - some 2 bedroom

• on-site caravans (no ensuite)
• standard cabins (no ensuite)
• powered caravan and camping sites - very shaded with plenty of room

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park and would not hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay in Carnarvon.
